Program Notes:
Several measures of the melody of this piece were created by one of my beginning band students in Grade 5 here in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She wrote them out herself for her instrument, the clarinet. I was inspired to take what she did, slightly change it, and make it into a piece for her whole class. She created the title as well, so I thought if the piece sounded light-hearted and bouncy, it could resemble the feelings and sense a child might have when exploring a candy shop; different colours, sights, smells, and of course tastes!
