Program Notes:

This fanfare captures the energy, forward motion, and sense of excitement that is a signature of UBC as a world-class learning institution. While most fanfares are high energy throughout, I also feel that the 100th anniversary should also be an opportunity to reflect and meditate on the past century, which is the rationale for a quieter middle section featuring the chimes which ring 10 times, each representing a decade of the hundred years of UBC.
