Program Notes:
North Shore Boulevard is a street in Burlington, Canada near where settlers landed their ships and established roots in the early 1800s. This piece is split into sections depicting the people and the events that occurred at that time. Joseph Brant was a prominent Mohawk leader and Loyalist who lived in the area. The settlers found the land to be excellent for farming, and agriculture still remains strong in the Burlington area even today. The War of 1812 interrupted the settlers' attempts at establishing roots, as all the inhabitants of the area went off to war.
