Program Notes:
On Fundy Bay was commissioned to celebrate Dennis Carpenter's many years of commitment and leadership as head of the music department at Dr. Norman Bethune C.I. (located on Fundy Bay Boulevard in Toronto, ON). The march, with its upbeat melodies and unexpected time changes, is meant to reflect his ever good-natured and supportive approach to teaching. Borrowing a term Dennis often used when addressing his students, he is "a good man".
