Program Notes:

Rocky Mountain Lullaby is inspired by my hiking and backpacking trips to the Canadian Rockies. I was particularly inspired by the combination of peace and quiet, and rugged beauty. In it you will hear the wind blowing, whisky jacks, woodpeckers, ravens and a general sense of calm but also the grandeur of the surroundings. The opening section is aleatoric, and uses simple extended techniques, while the main section passes a lyrical melody around to all the sections.
