Program Notes:

Walking to the Sky was inspired by a sculpture at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Designed by Jonathan Borofsky, the 100 foot tall sculpture creates the illusion of a group of people walking skyward into infinity. It was this vision that motivated Robert to create this composition celebrating humankind’s collective quest for wisdom and transcendence. The music takes an epic, cinematic approach and uses sudden shifts in dynamics and unexpected key changes to create drama and excitement.
