Program Notes:
Evergreen Carnival is a concert piece at the Grade 1 level. It was commissioned by Mulgrave School in West Vancouver for their Grade 5/6 band retreat at Loon Lake Camp, deep in the evergreen forest. The piece features a soloist or small group on a theme and variations solo. The simple theme is presented initially at measure 5. Later there are two progressively more challenging variations. The solo part is included for all instruments, and may be played by any individual or combination of instruments.
