Program Notes:
Spring is the time for renewal. We shed our heavier clothes in exchange for warmer weather, plant growth and new animal births. This 5-minute work is divided into 3 sections:
- "The Call to Spring"—Spring means different things to each of us. For those in colder climates, the snow is on its way out and new grass is starting to emerge. Birds soaring in the sky are returning from their winter havens.
- "A Spring Rain"—April showers bring May flowers. The new plants need the water, and children need places to puddle jump!
- "The Celebration of Spring"—When the rain finishes watering our plants, people spend time outside, enjoying nature and the new sights, sounds, and fragrances that Mother Nature has to offer.
