Program Notes:
This piece for wind symphony is inspired by the timbres of the instruments themselves and the exploration of "timbre as narrative". After the oboe opens the piece, parts of the oboe line get "caught" by the other instruments, as if there were an echo in the orchestra itself; the timbre of the oboe goes through a metamorphosis. The piece tells a story of timbre about and with the colours of the orchestral tone-colour palette.
