Program Notes:

This is the seventh “junior” concerto written for the senior ensemble at MCI. The title was selected by soloist Tarandeep Mittal, since the first five letters are shared with his name, and he felt there was a sinister creepiness to the music. In concept, this piece was intended to explore the phrygian mode, and challenge all sections with toccata-like passages. The melodic ideas are centered on the perfect fifth, and the minor second.
