Program Notes:

The Sky’s the Limit is a celebratory overture that symbolizes positive energy and exuberance. I wanted to create a piece of music that would lift people’s spirits. The music consists of two contrasting musical themes. The opening theme is a fanfare representing joyfulness and optimism – first stated in the trumpets, it then expands to include the whole ensemble. The second theme features a lyrical euphonium solo, and represents kindness and compassion. These two themes ebb and flow and ultimately intensify into a restatement of the opening fanfare and a final flourish.
